Jain Milan and
Networking 2008
Jain Milan 2008 is an opportunity for Jain youth (age 21 and older) throughout North America and around the world to meet in person, to make friends, to engage in networking, to develop business contacts and to possibly find a life partner. Jain Milan 2008 is organized to encourage our Jain youth to meet other Jains for the purpose of matrimony and to facilitate a face-to-face meeting. Jain Milan believes in Jain family values and will work hard to preserve these values. With events like Jain Milan 2008, we hope to achieve our goal to preserve Jain traditions and values in our next generation and strengthen our community. This event is organized by JAINA and is hosted by Jain Society of Houston.
Please encourage our eligible youngsters over 21 years to register and participate in this event.

Fund Raising For The New Jain Center
My dear friends,
Happy New Year to you and your family.
I am really excited to write to you that 2008 will be a defining year for JSNT (Jain Society of North Texas). We will be starting construction of our new Jain Center in Garland. As the President of JSNT, I am reaching out to you to request your help with raising funds for our exciting new facility. We need you to join our JSNT fund raising team to help us raise funds to build our new home.
Please let me know if you have any questions/suggestions. I will appreciate if you will please respond by Monday, Jan 21 if you will be able to join the fund raising team. You could also sign up to help at our general meeting on the 20th of January.

New Jain Center Presentation on the SwamiVatsalya Day
SwamiVatsalya Celebrartion is scheduled for Sunday Sept. 30th. Program will begin with Puja (8:30-10:30am) at the Jain Center followed by Bahvana, presentation and lunch at 11:00am at the Fretz Park Recreation Center - located at 6950 Beltline Road, Dallas, TX (corner of Hillcrest and Beltline in Richardson, TX).

TV Asia is starting the broadcast of First ever Jain TV show under JAINA. This show is produced by the Media Production Committee of JAINA. This show will have lectures, active youth corner and info. about Jains of north America.
This will be broadcast on TV ASIA on every other Sunday at 9:00AM Eastern and Pacific time. Starting September16th, 2007.

The Jain Youth Group would like to take this opportunity to extend thanks to those who came out to participate during this year's Thanksgivig Jaap.
Please continue your active support of the Youth Group activities to help promote Jain awareness in our youth.
Thanksgiving Prayer:
Today we give thanks for this vegetarian meal and the people who have
labored to harvest and prepare this meal for us. We give thanks for the many
lives that have contributed to our lives. We also ask for forgiveness from
the living beings that we have harmed, intentionally and unintentionally. We
are grateful for our health and the opportunity to eat with others on this
day. We aspire, with compassionate hearts, to use the energy that we gain
from this meal and our friends to contribute to the peace and happiness of
all living beings. We pray that all the people of the world will avoid
inflicting harm on animals and fellow human beings and practice nonviolence
and compassion. We express our sorrow at the suffering of all the turkeys
and other animals that have died. May peace and compassion grow in ourselves
and extend to all around us.
